Day of Rage : How Trump Supporters Took the U.S. Capitol

2021 | Visual Investigations - New York Times
Producer & Graphics

The Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was perhaps the most widely documented act of political violence in history. The Visual Investigations team, at The New York Times, obtained, analyzed and mapped out thousands of cellphone videos, police body cam recordings and internal police audio to provide the most complete picture to date of what happened — and why.

This short documentary, for which I developed, created, and oversaw graphics and animations, charts in chilling detail how the peaceful transition of power was disrupted by rioters who stormed a seemingly impenetrable seat of government.

“Day of Rage” is the winner of a 2022 Peabody Award, a 2022 Alfred I. duPont Award, and was shortlisted for the 2022 Oscars.
