Visual Investigations Team

2017 – 2023 | New York Times
Producer, Animator/Motion Designer,
Branding, Workflow & Template Development

Founded in 2017, the Visual Investigations team is pioneering a new form of explanatory and accountability journalism. It combines traditional reporting with advanced digital forensics that may include collecting and analyzing cell phone videos, satellite pictures and other media, and 3-D reconstructions of crime scenes. Their projects aim to hold the powerful to account and offer the most complete deconstruction of important news events.

As an original member of the team, I have been on the ground floor of its growth and evolution. As a producer and graphics editor I formed our design language, helped develop our creative approach, and oversaw our brand identity. Regardless of role, my work often involved taking complex or sensitive content and funneling it into clear, concise visuals.

This is just a small sample of the graphic/visual side of my work. For a more complete picture visit here.
